Before talking about all the features that should have the new windows, see if it truly is time to change the old ones:

1. First thing to observe if there is mould around the windows. If there is, very likely the seals no longer play their role. They let the cold air passes through which in turn lowers the temperature of the walls creating mold.

2. Do you hear distinctly outside noise? If you have this kind of problem, the bother persist both day and night. This is because the windows made few years ago, were not designed to safeguard the welfare home from an acoustic point of view.

answer these 6 questions:

  1. There are signs of chipping, deterioration stains or water on the window or around it?
  2. Spare parts (seals, hardware, frames, handles, etc.) are hard to find?
  3. The style is outdated and not very suited the furnishing of the house?
  4. The cleaning and the maintenance have become a big pain in the neck?
  5. The opening or closing of the window is combined to horrifying squeaks?
  6. Your windows have more than 35 years?
  7. If you have answered “Yes” at least to 4 of this questions you do not you need to make any other recommended tests, surely it is time to replace your old windows.
